Grampian Forest Rally 2017                               Spectator Guide

The rally is based at Milton of Crathes, Banchory all weekend. On Friday night the cars will be scrutineered and the competitors sign on.

On Saturday the ceremonial Start and Finish will be held in the grounds of Crathes Castle, whilst during the day the competitors will return to Milton of Crathes twice for servicing. There are two Spectator Areas in the forests, in Durris and Fetteresso and,as these stages are run twice there is plenty of opportunity to see the action.

Friday 11th August Milton of Crathes Scrutineering from 4:00pm to 8;30pm

All competing cars have to be examined by MSA Scrutineers to ensure that they comply with all safety requirements, and for their eligibility to run in the class they have requested, before they are allowed to start the event.

Come and see the cars and their crews at first hand, there is plenty of parking and refreshments and toilets will be available at the venue.

Saturday 12th August Ceremonial Start at Crathes Castle first car away at 9:00am

Come and see the cars sent on their way in the superb surroundings of Crathes Castle and hear the expectations of the crews as they are interviewed before starting the event.

During the day at Crathes Castle there will be a show of interesting and classic cars including displays by Ford RS Owners Club and Buchan Off Road Drivers Club

The competitors return to Crathes Castle at around 3:30 to 4:00pm in the afternoon when the winners will be announced with the traditional champagne spraying.

The Spectator Areas and car parks have been provided by Moray and Aberdeenshire Forest District for which we are very grateful. The Car Parks will be manned by Aberdeen Balgownie Rotary club members and all proceeds go to  charity, parking costs £5 per car. Please use these car parks and give these people your co-operation to make everyone’s day as enjoyable as possible.
